The General Presidency of Haramain is responsible for the administration and management of the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. Their vision includes embracing technological advancements to enhance operations and services, ensuring efficiency and engagement with a global audience.
The Issue
The General Presidency of Haramain required a modern, user-friendly landing page for their innovation platform to encourage idea submissions from staff and stakeholders. The previous interface lacked an intuitive design, making navigation complex and deterring user engagement. The absence of a clear visual hierarchy, structured content management, and mobile responsiveness resulted in a suboptimal user experience. Additionally, the platform needed to maintain the sanctity and prestige of Haramain while incorporating modern UI/UX elements that promote innovation. Accessibility and ease of use for non-technical users were also key challenges.

Our design approach prioritized simplicity while honoring the cultural and spiritual values of the General Presidency. We implemented a clean, minimalist layout with high-quality imagery that strongly reflects the sanctity of the holy sites. Key UI improvements included restructuring the information architecture to streamline navigation, enabling users to efficiently submit ideas and access relevant content. We adopted a mobile-first approach, optimizing the design for seamless access across all devices, with particular emphasis on mobile users, who represent a significant portion of the audience. Accessibility was a top priority, with full compliance to WCAG 2.1 standards, incorporating features like high contrast text, scalable fonts, and screen reader support to ensure inclusivity. The UI was meticulously aligned with the General Presidency’s branding, using a carefully curated color palette, typography, and iconography to reinforce trust and professionalism.
User-Centric CMS Design

We developed a streamlined, user-friendly CMS that empowers non-technical staff to manage content with ease. The intuitive dashboard simplifies content management through easy-to-use forms and submission tracking, ensuring efficiency. Built with scalability in mind, the CMS is designed to evolve alongside the innovation platform, accommodating future growth. Strict security protocols were implemented to safeguard data and prevent unauthorized access, ensuring the platform remains secure and reliable.
The Outcome
The UI/UX enhancements transformed the innovation platform into an intuitive, visually engaging, and accessible digital space. Key outcomes include a sharp increase in user engagement, with the improved interface and streamlined submission process driving a significant rise in idea submissions. Moreover, the custom CMS has empowered the General Presidency’s team to manage content effortlessly, reducing their dependency on technical support and boosting overall efficiency.

Through a user-centered, research-driven UI/UX approach, we successfully transformed the General Presidency of Haramain’s innovation platform into an efficient, modern, and accessible digital space. By prioritizing usability, mobile optimization, and brand consistency, we created an intuitive platform that fosters innovation while maintaining the sanctity and prestige of Haramain’s mission.
